CALeVIP Fast Charge California Project Window 2 Opens This Fall

Offset the cost of DCFCs throughout California, as well as the cost of installation, planning, engineering and more. Incentives for eligible equipment may equal up to 100% of the projects’ total approved costs subject to the incentive caps listed.

Build Public Fast Charging with California Incentives

California continues to lead the nation in EV adoption, and one of its largest incentive opportunities is helping businesses install public DC fast charging infrastructure.

The Fast Charge California Project (FCCP), administered through CALeVIP, provides substantial incentives for publicly accessible DC fast charging projects across the state. Recent funding rounds have offered incentives covering up to 100% of eligible project costs, with awards of up to $100,000 per charging port for qualifying installations.

For site hosts, this represents an opportunity to dramatically reduce the cost of deploying high-power charging infrastructure.

About CALeVIP and the Fast Charge California Project

The California Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Project (CALeVIP) provides funding for installing publicly available EV charging stations to support the rapid adoption of electric vehicles across California. The Fast Charge California Project (FCCP) specifically supports the installation of publicly accessible DC fast charging stations throughout California.

Eligible project costs may include:

  • DC fast charging equipment

  • Engineering and design

  • Construction

  • Electrical infrastructure

  • Installation

  • Permitting

Funding is awarded to projects that meet program requirements and are ready to move forward.

Upcoming Funding Opportunities

California has announced additional FCCP funding windows, creating new opportunities for businesses planning DC fast charging installations.

The upcoming Window 2 is scheduled to accept applications from October 7, 2026 through January 14, 2027, offering incentives of up to 100% of eligible installation costs and up to $100,000 per charging port.

Because funding is competitive and favors projects that are "ready to build," early planning is one of the biggest advantages applicants can have.

FCCP is ideal for:

  • Retail centers

  • Shopping destinations

  • Hotels

  • Fleet operators

  • Fuel retailers

  • Commercial property owners

  • Public parking operators

Public accessibility is a key requirement for all eligible projects.

Who Should Consider Applying?

Why Planning Early Matters

Successful projects are rarely assembled after funding opens.

Preparing ahead allows organizations to:

  • Complete site assessments

  • Coordinate with utilities

  • Finalize engineering

  • Select equipment

  • Develop accurate budgets

  • Submit stronger applications

Being project-ready increases the likelihood of receiving funding before available dollars are exhausted.

How Charli Helps

Charli helps organizations navigate the entire deployment process—not just the installation.

Our team supports:

  • Site evaluation

  • Charger selection

  • Utility coordination

  • Incentive strategy

  • Construction management

  • Long-term charging operations

For larger DC fast charging projects, we can also integrate battery energy storage through our partnership with Collectron. Storage can reduce demand charges, improve resilience, and in some cases enable larger charging deployments without costly utility upgrades.

Prepare Your Project Before the Next Funding Window

The best time to prepare your project is before applications open.

We'll help you evaluate your site, maximize available incentives, and build a project that's ready to compete for funding.
